Festival a feast of 1980s pop artists
Flashback To The 80s
BILLY OCEAN
Clumber Park is set to see an extravaganza of wild costumes and retro dancing when a host of 1980s musicians take to the stage this summer.

Headlining the six-hour Flashback Festival is Billy Ocean, one of the most successful recording stars Britain has produced.

Billy has sold more than 30m records in his lifetime and has achieved extraordinary success as an artist and a songwriter.

The Trinidadian-born singer’s hits includes Love Really Hurts Without You, Red Light Spells Danger, When The Going Gets Tough, and Get Outta My Dreams; Get Into My Car.

Former British Phonographic Industry best female singer Kim Wilde will bring back great memories with her hits, including Cambodia, Kids In America and worldwide smash You Keep Me Hanging On.

Sheffield-based ABC became an icon of the pop and dance scene when the band’s Lexicon Of Love album went straight to number one. They had hits with Tears Are Not Enough, Poison Arrow, The Look Of Love and All Of My Heart.

The former Bronski Beat and Communards singer, Jimmy Somerville, went down a storm at last year’s event and returns by popular demand. He created his own style of high-tempo pop/dance with his falsetto voice, leading to the 1986 hit, Don’t Leave Me This Way.

Go West have become a firm favourite at Flashback and previously had a good rapport with the audience, getting people dancing to We Close Our Eyes and Call Me.

Flashback debutante Midge Ure is best known for his time as the front-man of Ultravox, with hits including Vienna, Reap The Wild Wind, Dancing With Tears In Your Eyes and Love’s Great Adventure.

Katrina is the former lead singer of Katrina And The Waves and is still recording today.

She will perform Walking on Sunshine, Do You Want Crying? and Que Te Quiero and more.

Completing the line-up is The Reverend Clive Thomas Jackson from Doctor And The Medics, who had a massive success with Spirit In The Sky.

Tickets for Flashback on August 16 are available from 0845 075 6101 or www.ukeventsandproduction.com
