The homeless shelter, based at Barnbygate Methodist Church, Newark, will not be opened tonight (Thursday).
The homeless shelter, based at Barnbygate Methodist Church, Newark, will not be opened tonight (Thursday).
A homeless shelter in Newark will not open tonight as temperatures forecast for Saturday are too high.
The shelter, at Barnbygate Methodist Church, Newark, is opened by Newark and Sherwood District Council if temperatures are forecast to fall below -0ÂșC for three consecutive nights.

A spokesman for the district council said that because it is due to be warmer overnight on Saturday/Sunday, the shelter will not be opened.

He added that the situation would be continually reviewed.
