THE campaign to clear Newark and Sherwood of litter continues to gather pace. The latest development in the fight sees the district council teaming up with Keep Britain Tidy as part of this year’s Great British Spring Clean.
Plenty of options

THERE are plenty of options in and around Newark where money could be spent on pothole and road repairs (County Set To Receive £1m For Road Repairs, Advertiser, December 15).

My personal favourite for investment would be Hawton Lane, Balderton, from Flowserve to London Road.

To say the surface is uneven and dotted with potholes is an understatement and it is certainly a location deserving of attention.

In announcing that it was to receive more than £1m towards road repairs Nottinghamshire County Council said its approach would involve pothole repairs that were right first time.

Should that not have been the case previously?
