Retro is what to wear now

Fashions from the 1950s to the 1980s were the focus of a show in Newark Town Hall on Saturday.
The clothes, from Vintage Vixen, of Cartergate, Newark, were shown by 20 models — all friends and customers of the shop.

Two DJs provided recorded music.

Clothes shown during the evening included ballgowns, tea dresses, tweeds and tartans and military styles as well as glitzy party wear and fake-fur coats and wraps.

The models ranged in size from 6-8 to 16-plus.

Each guest was given a hand-decorated goodie bag filled with retro sweets.

The show, organised by Vintage Vixen owner Clare Parker, raised about £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
