A capacity audience at the Palace Theatre, Newark, on March 6, was treated to a superb concert of choral and ensemble singing at its best.

Byron House at Trent University, Nottingham, is the perfect venue for intimate shows with a very good sound system. I would guess there must have been 250 to 300 supporters in the audience for the Reverend And The Makers gig on March 9, which gave a real feeling of being with the band.

Newark Blues Festival is set to return for a second year. The event will take place from September 10 to 13, staged with the help of main partner, the Liz Hobbs Group of Newark. There will be plenty of live music and workshops.
