The trust which runs King's Mill Hospital says a "small number" of routine operations have been cancelled amid the NHS hacking attack.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust stressed it had switched off computer systems as a precaution.

A spokesman for the trust said four or fewer routine operations at the hospital, in Sutton-in-Ashfield, were cancelled due to the disruption.

Emergency services are running as normal.

The trust also manages Newark Hospital, but could not provide details if any clinics there had been cancelled this weekend.

A spokesman for the trust said: "There is no sign that we were actually hacked or infected.

"The systems have been closed down as a precaution.

"Systems are being brought back in a controlled way today (Saturday) and tomorrow.

"We are still not sure exactly what time we will be back fully to normal."

The spokesman added that it planned to tell patients with scheduled routine operations next week if they could attend as usual.
