An elderly man is thought to have been robbed of £200 in Southwell.

He was approached by a foreign-sounding man at the top of Nottingham Road at around 11.50am today (Friday).

The elderly man was asked to exchange some coins for a £5 note.

The offender held a piece of paper over the wallet and when the elderly man checked he had £200 missing.

The offender is described as in his 40s, with dark, receding hair, and dark skin.
