A pub has received an award for being the best in the district for promoting and encouraging the sale of real cider and perry.
The Fox And Crown on Appletongate, Newark, has been named cider pub of the year by the Newark branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The branch secretary, Mr Ian Randall, said they had received many nominations, which were judged on national criteria, including quality and range of ciders, knowledge of the product and customer service.
“It was a very deserved award for the Fox And Crown as they sell ciders and perry from both local and national makers,” said Ian.
The pub has more than 15 ciders available at any one time.
The landlord, Mr Alex McKenzie, received a trophy and certificate.
“I am delighted to win the award,” he said. “The team here all work hard and I would like to thank customers for their support.”
