Firefighters from Bingham will be a part of the effort to tackle wildfires in Lancashire this weekend.

They will be fighting fires at Winter Hill, near Bolton, and are due home Sunday evening.

It is the second time the Bingham retained crew has been to Winter Hill as part of the effort to extinguish the large moorland fires.

Around 100 firefighters are at the scene at any one time.

Crews from Collingham, Newark and Southwell have also been involved.

While Collingham made national headlines for saving the life of a bird that was trapped in heather, a Bingham firefighter, Luther Sweeney, saved a mole on their previous outing at Winter Hill. (pictured).
