We recently had another very noisy weekend down at Balderton Lakeside.

Motorbikes are using the Sustrans cycle track and former RHP sports ground as a speedway track, meaning eight hours of constant racket on what would have been a lovely Sunday.

The police are doing their utmost to apprehend these selfish individuals who are endangering the lives of innocent walkers and cyclists.

These motorbikes are accessing the Sustrans track by riding through the council-owned Newark Sports and Fitness Centre carpark and surrounding fields that are unfenced and have all-but useless anti-motorbike squeezers.

Perhaps if all Balderton and Newark residents adjacent to the cycle track and sports field, who have to endure this increasing menace, applied for a reduction in council tax the council might just do something about it.

I would also like to add that if any member of the public encounters one of these illegal motorbikes would they please call 101 and inform the police of the location.

Some of these motorbikes are ridden directly at people and if this occurs please call 999. — (Mrs) M. ASPIN, Balderton (Full address supplied).
