It is bad enough that hospital patients and visitors have to pay parking charges.

But it is disgusting that nurses and doctors have to pay because there are not enough spaces for them.

The University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, has 1,800 spaces and 6,000 staff who have to use spaces reserved for visitors.

They went to court over outstanding parking tickets, but lost their case, which is going to cost them thousands.

This is all about profit. It is time the government looked into these charges.

It should give doctors and nurses passes entitling them to free parking.

I suppose, however, the government will say it is nothing to do with it, like it does with so much else. — D. HINCHLEY, Acacia Road, Balderton.
