Here is the NHS response after my wife was thrown from her horse:

Monday, July 31 — rang GP surgery for appointment;

Tuesday, August 1 — saw Sutton-on-Trent GP at 9am. Given pain killers and an X-ray appointment at Newark Hospital;

X-rayed at 4pm, saw duty doctor at 4.30pm and fracture was diagnosed. Given fracture clinic appointment at 11am next day;

Wednesday August 2 —  Fracture clinic appointment at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at 11am. Saw specialist at 11.30am and after a thorough examination was provided with advice and crutches.

If Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust can do it why can’t others? Sincere thanks to all. — CHARLES LOWE, South Street, Normanton-on-Trent.
