A third successive loss was sustained by Southwell City as they paid for not creating enough chances against Swanwick Pentrich Road.

The defeat kept them in tenth place in the Central Midlands League South following their tenth league loss.

City’s Will Stocks had the first chance of the match when his flicked shot was excellently saved by the keeper.

Swanwick started to take control and, after hitting the post when they went through one-on-one, they took the lead with a thumping header.

Southwell went on to dominate for large periods, but were limited to mostly half-chances as they struggled to break down their opponents.

Anthony Brown was a driving force in midfield, but they were unable to take full control and fell to a closely-fought defeat.
