Ollerton Rugby Club is reflecting on a good season that saw rookie Jonny Brannon break the try-scoring record with 34 in a season.
The first team finished sixth in Midlands 4 East (North) and the Exiles team was third in the Pennant league.
Last season the club recruited nine new players and two of them won awards — Martin Bates was the players’ player of the year and Steff Alvey was rookie of the year.
The first team reached the Notts Junior Cup Final, losing 18-3 to Mellish on Nottingham Rugby’s first-team pitch.
Jack Cranmer, Jonny Brannan, James Hooper, Ash Scott, Stacey Heathershaw and Darren Wilford represented Nottinghamshire and Stuart Parker and Eric Cranmer were given three county honours.
Ollerton has developed a second pitch at Boughton sports field.
Pre-season training starts on July 12 at Boughton and new players are welcome.
The club thanked its sponsors, Jones & Co Solicitors, for helping it to buy new floodlights, a community bus and shirts.
