Boxer David Avanesyan was beaten for just the second time in his career in his first defence of the WBA world welterweight title.

The 28-year-old Russian, who is trained by Newark promoter Carl Greaves, lost by unanimous decision (116-113, 116-112, 116-112) against Lamont Peterson in Cincinnati on Saturday night.
