A612 at Gonalston closed after two-car collision

A main road remains closed this morning while police investigate a serious collision involving two cars.
The road has now reopened.
The incident happened in Southwell Road, Gonalston, at around 10.45pm yesterday (Thursday).
The A612 Southwell Road remains closed between its junctions with Gonalston Road, Gonalston, and Beck Street, Thurgarton, while emergency services deal with the incident.
The road closures are expected to remain in place for some time.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
