“We fly over to Cambodia on November 15 until November 29, so it will be a busy two weeks for her,” said Caitlin’s mum, Amy Turner.

“There’s Miss Planet England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, which makes up team UK, and they will fly over together to compete against 60 other nations.”

Caitlin, who was crowned Miss Planet Scotland last month, was able to compete due to her Scottish heritage.

She will take part in a heritage night where she will dress in traditional Scottish clothes.

Caitlin also works as a model for Comino Couture, a clothing site with more than 250,000 Instagram followers.

“She was over the moon,” said Amy.

“She is the youngest contestant to ever compete in the nationals.

“It isn’t daunting for her at all — she loves everything about it.

“The crown up for grabs is worth $250,000.

“She will be doing lots of press shoots, going to gala dinners, and doing charity work.”

Caitlin is in the middle of shooting a mental health awareness video, centred around the danger of social media for the young people.
