Chantelle Botton blow dries the hair of Diane Anderson, 36 at Curl Up N Dye, Lombard Street, as part of an all day fundraising event for Glenfield Hospital.

A hairdresser said she was overwhelmed by the kindness of her customers as she raised money for a charity that supports a hospital caring for her daughter.

Chantelle Botton, of Newark, works part-time at Curl Up N Dye hairdressers on Lombard Street, Newark.

She reserved her seat last Thursday and Friday exclusively for blow-dries to raise money for Heart Link, a charity that helps the children’s heart unit at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester.

Her six-year-old daughter, Sienna, has been a patient there since being diagnosed with Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome as a baby.

Chantelle said: “I wanted to give the charity something back.

“We have been going to the hospital for years and it has offered so much help.

“People have been coming forward who I don’t even know. I’m so grateful.”

Customer Diane Anderson, 36, who had a blow-dry for the charity, said: “I used to go to school with Chantelle and after seeing on Facebook what she was doing, I wanted to get involved.”
