Heavy snowfalls could affect the Advertiser area on Sunday.

The Met Office has today issued a yellow weather warning, which comes into effect at 4am on Sunday and lasts until 11.55pm on the same day.

There may be disruption for motorists and to rail services, while some rural communities could be cut off.

The Met Office noted that a fall of between 1cm and 5cm is possible in the weather warning area, which includes all of central and northern England, reaching up to 10cm in some places.
