The family of a six-year-old girl who died after being found unresponsive at home have paid tribute to their “beautiful daughter”.

Daisy Dymyd was airlifted to Sheffield Children’s Hospital after emergency services were called to the house on Lincoln Road, Tuxford, at 3.05pm on Monday.

However, she was pronounced dead at hospital.

Today, her family paid tribute to Daisy.

“Our beautiful daughter was the centre of our world and we can’t believe she’s gone.

“She will be so missed by everyone that knew her.

“She was such a happy little girl who lit up our lives and made the world brighter.”

The family have asked for privacy.

Mrs Elaine Atkin, vice-chairman of Tuxford Town Council, said the community was shocked by the death.

"People are very, very sad.

"It is a real tragedy and upset quite a lot of people, especially as it is a well-known family in the town.

"They are getting a lot of support from family and friends.

"It has affected people a lot. Everybody is devastated, especially as Tuxford is a close-knit community."

No arrests have been made. Nottinghamshire Police are passing a file to the coroner.

A statement from Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, issued on Wednesday, said: “The air ambulance’s rapid response vehicle was dispatched to a paediatric medical emergency in Tuxford at 2.55pm on Monday, February 19.

“Our crew of doctor and two paramedics assisted other emergency services on scene treating a female child. They returned to base at 4.40pm.”
