Fast food restaurant re-opens creating 15 jobs
A fast food restaurant in Newark has re-opened and has taken on 15 new employees.
McDonald's, on Lincoln Road, re-opened this week following digital improvements designed to speed up the ordering process.
Customers have the option of using one of the restaurant's three self-order kiosks which allow customers to browse the menu, look at nutritional information and personalise their meals.
McDonald's said its dedicated dining room hosts would ensure the process was as quick and easy as possible.
Table service has also been introduced to take the stress out of finding somewhere to sit when carrying food.
McDonald's said in restaurants where table service had been introduced previously customer feedback was positive; with families enjoying the ease of not having to leave children unattended while queuing, and many people feeling it means they have more time to chat with friends and family.
The restaurant in Newark is owned and operated by franchisee Walter Wright who has nine restaurants in Newark, Sheffield and Chesterfield.
He said: "We're very proud of the restaurant's new look and it's great to see everyone getting to grips with the new technology.
"Customers are really embracing the quick and easy to use self-order kiosks.
"These changes are designed to make our customers' experience as positive as possible in such a busy area - whether that’s providing people with a chance to get to grips with using a tablet in a relaxed environment, or providing parents with a quick and easy way of ordering their food which now includes table service."
