Newark animal lovers have pre-booked 300 hens from the British Hen Welfare Trust ahead of Sundays visit
More than 300 hens will be rehomed on Sunday as part of a charity campaign.
Following national Animal Awareness Day on October 4, the British Hen Welfare Trust launched a nationwide event which has seen them travel from Haslingden, Lancashire to Rose Ash, Devon, in their bid to save hens from the slaughter house.
Sunday will see the charity travel to Newark, where all 300 hens will be adopted and rehomed.
Francesca Mapp, the organisers communications and marketing officer, said: "The response in Newark has been great.
"All the hens have been pre-booked to suitable owners who have the right set up.
The location and time of arrival on Sunday is not available to the public. If you have any questions visit British Hen Welfare Trust online at www.bhwt.org.uk or call 01884 860084.
