A £50,000 fundraising target to help out a hero police officer hit by a train while saving a life has been beaten in a little over three days.

The page was set up by ex-Nottinghamshire Police sergeant Dan Fletcher on Saturday to raise funds for the Newark-based officer who was hit by a train on the East Cost Mainline on the evening of Thursday of last week as he saved the life of a distressed person.
