Thirty giant Christmas inflatables are lighting the way to Coddington this Christmas.

Most people are content to celebrate the festive time with a Christmas tree and lights but Rikki Angell's front garden has been turned into an extravagant winter wonderland which Father Christmas can not help but spot.

Mr Angell, 60, has at least 30 giant inflatables which are timed to go up in the front garden of his home in Coddington from early evening until the following morning each day.

He has also pulled out all the stops when it comes to Christmas lights with colourful displays on the walls and roof.

Mr Angell, a retired hosiery manufacturer, started his Christmas displays when he lived in Barrow-upon-Soar and he and a neighbour would try to see whose were the best.

When he moved to Coddington eight years ago he brought his Christmas decorations with him and he has been building up the display each year. Some are bought locally and he has ordered others from America.

They went up on December 1 and will disappear after Christmas.

"I like to do it for the children," he said. "We get a lot of people coming along especially to have a look."
