A bird's eye view of Newark
The beauty of Newark was captured in this stunning aerial photograph by a firm specialising in pictures taken from the skies.
A photographer from Commission Air who was above the town in a helicopter took the image, which shows Newark Parish Church, the castle and much of the town centre.
The company, which is based in Market Deeping, was founded in 1990.
Head of technical Karl Smith said: “We operate everywhere between the Scottish Borders and the south coast, and from Lowestoft to Swansea — we are in the air most of the time.
“We take images that people have ordered but on this particular day we just happened to be flying over Newark and took this photograph.
“Part of what we do is to take pictures for those who are office-based, so that they can gain a different view of where they work. Businesses often order the photographs.”
To capture this image, Commission Air used a Canon 5DsR camera, which records 50m pixels.
