A-levels 2022: South Nottinghamshire Academy reports outstanding results
After an unprecedentedly tough two years, South Nottinghamshire Academy said it was pleased to celebrate the amazing achievements of its sixth form students.
The Radcliffe school, part of the Redhill Academy Trust, said it was reporting outstanding results in A-levels — 100% at A* to E — and other examination qualifications this summer.
Anna Cox, head of sixth form, said: "Students and staff have worked extremely hard to secure some of the academy’s most outstanding results — it is so pleasing to see students gain their places at prestigious universities or progress to their destination of choice in employment or training."
Heidi Creagh gained A*A*A* and will be studying natural sciences at the University of Cambridge.
Abbie Bowman gained A*A*A* and will be studying chemistry at the University of Oxford.
Will Thomas gained A* A* A* and will be studying chemistry at Loughborough University.
Alice Smith gained A*A*A* and will be studying medicine at the University of Newcastle.
Luke Chick gained A*AA and will be studying game design and development at Sheffield Hallam.
As well as competing in the U20 World Junior Athletics Championships in Columbia, Poppy Malik also gained fantastic A-level results (A*AC in fine art, sociology and biology). She will be studying a degree at Loughborough University.
Alfie Watson secured A*A*B chemistry, maths and Spanish and will be studying maths at York University.
Head Dan Philpotts said: “We are immensely proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially since this cohort sat the first formal examinations since the pandemic.
"Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students have been able to fulfil their potential and are all able to progress onto further education and employment.
"The range of courses that students have chosen this year is more broad than ever, from policing, nursing and teaching to cyber security, game design, law and business.
"We feel great hope for the future as these students will all be wonderful additions to these professions. Well done to everyone — your success is well deserved.”
