A1 work due to start

Major improvements to the A1 in the Newark area will begin on Thursday.
From Thursday until Monday the southbound A1 carriageway between Dry Doddington and Long Bennington will be closed from 8pm and 6am.
From next Thursday (March 4) until the following Thursday (March 11) about one mile of the northbound A1 carriageway through Newark will be closed between 8pm and 6am for resurfacing and replacing road studs and lines.
