A46 crash fatality named

The man who died following a collision on the A46 at Newark has been named.

Lance Corporal Christopher John Bradshaw, from Telford in Shropshire, was driving a blue Fiat Punto, when it was in collision with an articulated lorry, which subsequently overturned.

The 30-year-old was based at RAF Digby, near Scopwick in Lincolnshire.

The lorry driver is in hospital where he is being treated for minor injuries.

Two other articulated lorries and an orange Fiat Brava were also involved in the crash.

The driver of the Fiat Brava later attended hospital but has since been released.

The incident happened just after 5am on Saturday, on the A46 bypass near the Farndon junction.

The A46 bypass was closed and did not re-open until 7.30am yesterday (Sunday).

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police’s Crash Investigation Unit on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
