A52 crash: Man taken to hospital after car collides with lamppost at Sedgebrook

A 62-year-old man was cut free by firefighters after his car collided with a lamppost.

The man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, after the Audi A4 he was driving left the A52 at Sedgebrook.

He was admitted to hospital with internal injuries which were not thought to be life-threatening.

The roof of the Audi A4 was removed and a white articulated lorry was also involved in the collision.

Police and the ambulance service were called at 6.11pm on Wednesday evening and the road was closed in both directions.

The road was later re-opened in both directions at around 9pm.
