Advertiser Wedding Fair: Discover all you will need for your big day
Getting married is exciting. It presents the opportunity to get together all the people that you care about to celebrate love.
It is a day full of laughter, smiles and even some happy tears. But for many, the lead-up can be a time of stress.
We want to help and make the planning fun. Grab your bridesmaids, groomsmen and parents, make a date in your diary, and come along to the Advertiser Wedding Fair on Sunday, April 9.
The Advertiser Media Group has gathered together a host of wedding services ranging from flowers to cars, stationery to dresses and honeymoons to catering.
The event will be held in The Gilstrap Register Office, Newark Castle and the ballroom of The Ram, on Castlegate.
If you are tying the knot, whatever stage of planning you have reached, you need to be there.
Prepare to tick things off your to-do list and be inspired by lots of creative and individual ideas.
Registrars from The Gilstrap will be there to offer expert advice to ensure you don’t forget any of the important legalities. They will also have information about the many beautiful ceremony venues available in the area.
The 12th Century undercroft of Newark Castle will be open for brides and bridegrooms interested in an atmospheric venue steeped in history. The grounds will be used for a display of vehicles to get you safely to your wedding.
The Ram, an elegant bar and brasserie that was once a Georgian coaching inn, just across the road from The Gilstrap, will host more exhibitors in its ballroom, which is available for wedding hire.
If you get tired after all the planning, The Ram is an ideal stop for lunch and a drink.
Admission to the fair is free with a complimentary glass of bucks fizz on arrival.
We want to ensure that all the brides feel extra special so if you are engaged you will receive a goody bag full of gifts from Clarins, Vichy, La Roche-Posay and a free make-over voucher from No 7.
They will be handed out on a first come, first served basis so get there early to ensure you receive one.
The event opens at 11am and continues until 3pm.
