Anger over extension plans
Residents living on a development in Balderton for people over the age of 55 say they are angry at plans for a three-storey extension on the site.
The parish council's planning committee yesterday agreed to raise objections to the application at Warwick Court, on Warwick Road, Balderton.
The plans, by Acreholm Ltd of Newark, are for a scooter store and guest suite with a flat above and the creation of a new flat in the existing guest suite and laundry.
Residents say the plans will mean that a large piece of the communal garden will be lost to them and the views of a number of residents will be blocked.
The chairman of Balderton Parish Council, Mrs Angela Jarvis, said she was angered by the actions of the developer and said the new plans were unacceptable.
The Advertiser was unable to contact Acreholm Ltd for a comment.
A statement in support of the extension says it will have little impact on the site or the surrounding area and will provide a much needed facility for Warwick Court.
Newark and Sherwood District Council will decide the application.
