Annual North Muskham charity football match raises hundreds for Mind and The Trussel Trust

An annual charity football match has raised money for two good causes.

The Muskham Ferry Men and The Lincoln Burton Boys took to the pitch in North Muskham to raise money for both Mind and The Trussel Trust.

In the game’s ten year history it is the first time the Muskham Ferry Men have won, with a 4-1 result.

Organised by Dave Brumpton, the match raised £900 through collections, an online donation QR code and the players each paying £10.

Charities Mind and The Trussel Trust were chosen due to the players’ connections to them.

Dave said: “We chose mind because some of our team members, especially the younger lads, have used Mind during the pandemic.

“We always try to choose something personal or local.”

One of the Muskham players volunteers at The Trussel Trust foodbank, which lead the team to support the charity.

In just the past three charity matches, £3,000 has been raised for various charities, including Teenage Cancer Trust and Alzheimers charities.

The match was followed by refreshments at Muskham Ferry.
