Dobiefest at Oakridge Arena, Collingham to raise funds for Lins Dobermann Rescue
An annual fundraising event for a dog charity is introducing three new demonstration areas this year.
The Dobiefest, raising funds for Lincs Dobermann Rescue will be taking place on September 13 at Oakridge Arena, Collingham.
The charity events have been held for four years, originally in a field in Mablethorpe, but in 2024 it outgrew the site and moved to Collingham.
This year, the event will be expanded to include three demonstration areas featuring agility, flyball, drug dogs, carriage dogs, and the opportunity for visitors to take the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award.
There will also be a fun dog show, with two rings, one for Dobermanns and the other for all dog breeds.
There are eight classes in each ring plus Best in Show and the first five in each class will win a goody bag.
All the activities are presented by Trent Valley Dog Training Club, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue and the Rescue Dog team will also be putting on displays throughout the day.
This year there will also be an outdoor shopping village, which people can apply at the festival’s website to become a traders.
Any companies who also wish to sponsor the festival can do it through the website.
The event is free to attend, however, there is a cost of £5 per car for parking.
The charity, which rescues and rehomes Dobermanns in need, was established in Lincolnshire in 2017, but now operates throughout mainland UK it rescues and rehomes around 60 dobies a year, a number which increases annually.
