Plans for apartments in Ollerton approved by Newark and Sherwood District Council despite town council objections
Plans for an office block to be converted into 17 apartments, and a maximum of another 26 built in the carpark, have been approved by Newark and Sherwood District Council planning committee.
Outline permission was granted for a site on Latimer Way in Sherwood Energy Village, Ollerton.
The application was submitted through agents Jackson Design Associates.
The broadly rectangular plot contains Prospect House, a two-storey office building with a carpark of about 90 spaces.
The u-shape of the building encloses an external courtyard, and the nearby buildings are a mix of commercial and office buildings, and housing.
Ollerton Town Council objected to the plan, saying there were not enough parking spaces, no provision for disabled parking, and not enough amenity space for leisure and gardening.
But district planning committee members voted unanimously to approve the outline plan, subject to all details being submitted in a full planning application, including access, appearance, landscaping, layout and scale.
