Appeal after injured pair left in Cotgrave
Police are looking for a gang who seriously assaulted two men before bundling them into their own car and driving off.
The victims were sitting in a silver Audi A4, near Unity Casuals Cricket Club in the Lenton Lane area, late on Thursday night when a group of men approached them.
The gang assaulted one of the victims as he got out of the car and the other was also attacked when he went to help his friend.
They were then bundled into the back of the car, before being driven to a carpark on Hollygate Lane in Cotgrave and abandoned.
Police believe a second car was also being driven by the gang of men.
Both men, one aged 27 and the other 45 were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.
The 45-year-old man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Detective Sergeant Mr Neil Fountain of Nottinghamshire Police said: "In an effort to track these offenders I would ask any revellers or motorists who were in or around the area, between 9pm and 10.30pm, on Thursday, to cast their minds back and see if they can remember anyone acting suspiciously and any vehicles associated with those individuals.
"We would also like to find the stolen silver Audi A4, and would ask anyone who has seen, or knows where the car is to get in touch.
"In addition, if anyone knows who these offenders are, or knows their whereabouts they should contact the police immediately," he said.
Anyone with information should call Nottinghamshire Police on 0115 967 0999 and ask for Meadows CID on ext 6460.
