It is believed they ran down Cranmer Road before leaving the area in a car.

Inspector Charlotte Ellam, neighbourhood policing inspector for Newark, said: “We are studying CCTV footage and following a number of lines of inquiry but would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time.

“We are also on hand to support the school following the incident.

“Thankfully no one was injured but we will not tolerate this sort of behaviour.

“The damage it has caused to one of our local schools is completely unacceptable.”

Sir Donald Bailey Academy has been approached for comment.

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 42 of June 18 2023, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
