Nottingham Police appeal after Newark pub The Wheatsheaf has paint splashed over it




Police are appealing for witnesses after a Newark pub was vandalised.

The Wheatsheaf pub on Slaughterhouse Lane was splashed and covered with paint in the early hours of Saturday.

Police were called to the pub at 12.45am and are now trying to find out what exactly happened.

Sergeant Rob Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were called to an address in Slaughterhouse Lane, Newark, at around 12.45am on April 30 following reports that the property had been vandalised.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened, so if anyone witnessed the incident take place or has any other information that could assist us, we’d ask that they contact us straight away.

“Members of the public can do this by calling police on 101, quoting incident number 35 of April 30.”

The pub is open for business as usual.
