A man is missing his “pride and joy” - his kit car which has been stolen.

The 29-year-old, from Flintham, reported the theft on Wednesday September 21 2011.

He said he had been travelling in his 1940s Lotus Seven replica with the fuel light illuminated before the car spluttered to a halt in Bowbridge Lane, Newark.

Between 6.50pm and 7.10pm, the time it took him to walk to the petrol station on Bowbridge Road and back, his car was stolen.

The small lightweight sports car is white with a grey roll cage, black wheel arches and black detail on the body. There is no windscreen and the two seats are made of white fibreglass.

Sergeant Mark Burrell, of Newark Police, said: “The vehicle is this man’s pride and joy.

"He has spent a lot of time, energy and money on it and is understandably very angry and upset by the fact that someone has taken it from him.

“We would urge anyone who knows the whereabouts of the car to contact us.”

Anyone who witnessed the theft or who has any information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 300 99 99, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
