Armed gang robs Bingham pub
A pub landlady and her boyfriend have relived the horror of coming face-to-face with three masked robbers after closing time.
Pam Fisher’s boyfriend, Mr John White, needed 20 stitches to a wound in his chin after being hit with the head of a woodsman’s axe.
Three men burst into The Wheatsheaf, Bingham, after Pam Fisher responded to a knock on the back door.
One was brandishing an axe, another a bat.
“It was horrific. I don’t think I have ever been as scared,” said Pam Fisher.
“You see it on Crimewatch and you don’t think it will ever happen to you. They were like animals and very aggressive.”
The men escaped with around £3,000 and handbags and mobile phones, which the men had taken to prevent anyone calling for help.
Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in or around the pub carpark around 1am on Monday or any vehicle that may have been involved.
Anyone with information should telephone 0300 300 99 99, extension 812 5636, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
