Exhibition organiser John Geeson said: “There’s anything from landscapes, portraits, wildlife — you name it, there’s everything that you can imagine.

“It’s amazing when you actually see them at the club doing a painting, but then when it comes to the exhibition you see the full thing.”

The club usually hold the spring exhibition every year, but have been unable to do so since 2019.

John said: “We are hoping this year we can do both spring and autumn exhibitions at the church.

“We started back last July with the club but it has been on and off. It’s only this year now that its got back as normal.

“There’s a lot of new work gone into this exhibition. Its a good buzz.”

The club’s last spring exhibition attracted nearly 700 visitors over the week, and it hopes the bank holiday weekend will attract visitors into the town and the church to see the exhibition.

All the paintings on display will be for sale, and visitors can vote for their favourite — with the winner’s name engraved on a cup they keep for the year.

The exhibition will run from Friday to Friday, May 6, from 10am to 4pm daily.
