Art Deco trail launched
A new town trail will give people the chance to discover the influence of Art Deco design on some of Newark's most prominent buildings.
The trail is the sixth in a series by Newark Civic Trust and is accompanied by a leaflet, paid for by Newark Town Partnership and Newark and Sherwood District Council.
One of the authors of the leaflet, Mr Bill Davidson, a member of Newark Civic Trust, said the trail was a bit of a tease because people thought about Newark being Georgian and medieval.
However, he said the Art Deco period had influenced many of the prominent buildings in the town.
They include the former Savoy cinema, on Middlegate, now Halifax Bank.
The trail leaflet will be available in time for Easter at The Gilstrap Centre, Newark Library, Millgate Museum, Newark Town Hall, and Ann et Vin.
