Rebecca Jordan, of Collingham, opens her Call of the Wild exhibition at Strodman Street's Gallery 6
A love of nature and art has come together for this Collingham artist.
'Call of the Wild', a solo exhibition by Rebecca Jordan, was launched at Gallery 6, on Stodman Street in the town centre, on Tuesday (April 9), celebrating the artist's two passions in life.
Rebecca's exhibition is a selection of pen and ink drawings of wild animals and horses. She has also used a stick on occasion to create looser and freer art than a regular brush, and her masterpieces can take just a matter of minutes to draw.
She said: "I used to teach outdoor education and love the outdoors, so this seemed a nice way to combine the two things I love - drawing and the great outdoors."
Rebecca, who co-owns the Secret Garden Art Cafe behind Gallery 6, either draws her pieces from memory, or from inspiration after seeing a particularly beautiful photograph or scene first hand.
Call of the Wild's launch on Tuesday evening was a huge success, and Rebecca sold seven paintings on the night.
Her exhibition will be on display at Gallery 6 until Saturday April 27, which is open between 9.30am and 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday. For more information, log on to www.gallery6newark.co.uk or you can follow Rebecca on Instagram at @beckyjordanartist
