Newark and Sherwood District Council urge residents to avoid asbestos fly tipped in Walesby

Fly-tipped waste containing asbestos is awaiting specialist removal and is under investigation by a council.

Newark and Sherwood District Council has urged residents to not go near the waste if possible, which it is currently working to remove.

It has been dumped on Chapel Lane, Walesby, and due to the waste containing asbestos it requires specialist removal and cannot be removed as quickly as normal.

The fly tip has been marked with warning tape stating 'Illegally dumped rubbish under investigation'.

The council asks residents who see any fly-tipping without this labelling to report it on the council website as soon as possible and leave any evidence where it is.
