Michael Shanahan joined travel company Travel Counsellors after being made redundant by Thomas Cook
A travel agent who specialises in a personalised service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Michael Shanahan, from Newark, has joined independent travel company Travel Counsellors having been made redundant by Thomas Cook after it collapsed in September.
He said it was a difficult period, but is back on his feet having started a new business venture.
“I have lots of friends and family in Newark and I am hoping former customers can find me,” said Michael, who is based in Carlton.
His work consists of a unique home-working model, speaking to customers at the most convenient time for them, even if that’s 11pm on a Tuesday or 7am on a Sunday morning when other travel agencies are closed.
Michael said: “The in-house technology available to me is incredible.
“Many people don’t have time to talk or even think about their holiday during the working week and that’s where I come in. I am available when it suits them.”
