Bank holiday Monday bin emptying scrapped

Bins will no longer be emptied in Newark and Sherwood on bank holiday Mondays.

Instead householders will have their bins emptied on the Saturday before.

The first change will be Easter Monday's collection which will take place on Saturday.

The same applies on the May day, spring and summer bank holidays. Collections will be held as normal on Good Friday.

Residents are being asked to ensure their bins are presented for collection before 6am on collection day as there is a possibility the crews will be earlier than normal.
