Newark-based Barcode Warehouse continues to see strong growth
THE Barcode Warehouse, a Newark-based UK leading specialist provider of barcode technology, is seeing strong growth with the purchase of a third site.
The company engaged Rhino Interiors Group to carry out works on a new Innovation and Customer Experience Centre, a significant investment.
The business purchased the 25,000 sq ft Newton House, a former Vodafone centre in the summer of 2021, with plans to create not only new offices for the growing workforce, but to offer customers an engaging, immersive experience, seeing first-hand the best technology solutions available in the industry.
The aim was to propel the business into its next phase of growth and cementing its place as the leading B2B technology solutions provider in the UK.
An employer of over 275 staff, the company expects to see further growth: creating even more opportunities in the area across many business specialisms including technology and software roles.
Offering a modern, professional, and relaxed environment for both staff and visitors, Newton House will be the business’ hub for technology, adding to the two other sites in that it has operated from for over 20 years; Enterprise House which houses the Barcode Warehouses’ flagship managed services and customer service operation and the Telford Drive site which is home to its manufacturing, distribution, and service centre.
The new building will house the Innovation and Customer Experience Centre, or ICE Centre for short, and will be kitted out with the latest business technology including interactive, state of the art industry themed demo spaces.
Customers will have the opportunity to see forward-thinking solutions in action first-hand, helping them to understand how new technologies can solve their business challenges, increase their productivity, and gain more control over their technology estates.
Kevan Mutton, managing director at The Barcode Warehouse, said: “The Innovation and Customer Experience Centre will demonstrate The Barcode Warehouse’s capabilities as a leader in curated technology solutions for business in the 21st century. It will be a hub for understanding our customer’s current and future problems and designing new and innovative solutions.”
Already partner to some of the most prestigious retail, ecommerce, warehousing, logistics and health brands in the UK; as well as providing services and technology to covid-19 vaccination and testing providers, the business works with many leading manufactures and developers including Android, Samsung, Zebra, Honeywell, Toshiba, Epson, Datalogic and Panasonic.
Working with its partners, The Barcode Warehouse will also be seeking to provide local, national and educational experiences to facilitate ongoing industry training and tech career opportunities.
Ross Lee, chairman and founder, said: “When I started the company 30 years ago, I couldn’t have imagined being where we are today."
"Over the years, The Barcode Warehouse has grown, and we broadened our technology specialisms; this has been made possible through the dedication, passion and customer focused ethos of our people.
“While we may no-longer be a traditional small family business, I believe our small business ethics of flexibility, customer services and family centric approach is key to our success and has been pivotal in our ability to meet and exceed customers’ needs time and again.
“Newton House is a natural next step for us.” And as we start to see the end of restrictions, we’re really pleased to have something truly exciting and drawing for our people, customers and partners to come back to.”
