Southwell antiques fair host Field Dog Fairs announces Beaumond House Hospice, Newark, as charity of the year
An antiques fair which features on BBC Bargain Hunt has named a hospice as it’s charity of the year.
Field Dog Fairs, which hosts three major events annually at Southwell Racecourse, has announced Beaumond House Hospice in Newark as its chosen charity of the year.
It will support the hospice by providing engagement opportunities at each fair to help raise awareness, as well as fundraising for the charity.
The first event of the year will be on May 24 and 25, featuring a wide array of antiques, vintage treasures, collectables, and more, and will also welcome film crews from BBC Bargain Hunt.
Beaumond House provides essential care and support across Newark and Sherwood, offering hospice at home services, day therapy, bereavement support, and round-the-clock end-of-life care — but relies heavily on fundraising and donations to maintain these vital services.
Charlotte Williams, event and marketing director for Field Dog Fairs, who earlier in the year asked for nominations for it’s chosen charity, said: “Beaumond House submitted a emotive application, and combined with public nominations and support, I was delighted to announce the charity as Field Dog Fairs’ charity of the year for 2025.
“The work of Beaumond House, and the services they provide in our local community are invaluable to so many. I look forward to the year ahead, and to working with the dedicated team from Beaumond House in any way I can”.
Visitors to the antiques fairs will have the opportunity to learn more about the hospice’s services and contribute to their fundraising efforts at the charity’s stall in the outdoor market, outside the main entrance to the Grandstand.
Matt Colbourne, head of fundraising and communications for Beaumond House added: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as Field Dog Fair’s charity of the year.
“Every penny raised at the fairs will help Beaumond House provide care for those living in our local community with a life-limiting illness or terminal diagnosis. We are excited to be working with Charlotte and look forward to attending the first antiques fair weekend in May.”
