A beloved Newark coffee shop has announced closure with a ‘heavy heart’ after a few ‘very challenging years’.
Balmforth & Co Newark on 22-24 Kirkgate, announced on their Facebook page the business closure after nine years of trading.
They wrote on their social media page: “It’s been a very challenging few years and unfortunately, we have been left with no other choice.
“To all our customers, who have been part of our journey for the last 9 years, we thank you for supporting us, it’s been a pleasure to be part of Newark.”
The message was signed by Adam, Tracy and the rest of the Balmforth & Co team.
Since the announcement, people have been sharing their sadness on social media, most expressing their sadness at the news and saying what a loss this will be for the town centre.
Lorraine Parker wrote: “So sad to hear this! One of the best places to eat in Newark! good luck for the future.”
“Aww so sorry we loved coming to your café,” Ali Elizabeth Bristow added, “Another sad loss for Newark.
