Beloved Reach Care colleague’s memory honoured with charity challenges in aid of Reach Learning Disability
A charity skydive and Tough Mudder are to raise money in memory of a much-loved care colleague.
Reach Learning Disability’s community is to come together in a powerful show of support to raise funds for the service for adults with learning disabilities.
It is in memory of Dave Frearson, who was a much-loved colleague from the charity’s auxiliary care service Reach Care.
Dave is said to be “deeply missed by all who knew him”, and so two challenges will be completed in his memory.
On August 3, Dave’s wife, Sarah, and one of his sons, Jack, will each take on a tandem skydive at Langar.
Sarah said: “Dave always wanted to do a sky dive but wasn't able to due to having epilepsy. So we thought we'd do it for him and raise money for a charity he worked for and loved.
“Dave loved doing the job he did, making a difference to service users and their families, and he was very proud of it. I know he is greatly missed by them too.
“Reach is a charity that goes above and beyond, and we are pleased to be able to do this, in Dave’s memory, for them.”
To support their skydive and contribute to Reach’s incredible work, donations can be made here: www.justgiving.com/page/sarah-frearson-2.
The pair are aiming to raise £1,500.
In addition, on July 5, an team of ten will take on the Belvoir Castle Tough Mudder in support of Reach.
Nine of them are proud members of the Reach Care team, and they’ll be running the 5K course in memory of Dave.
To back their efforts and help them reach their fundraising goal, supporters can donate here: www.justgiving.com/campaign/team-reach-tough-mudder.
This community-driven initiative is not only a tribute to Dave but also a meaningful way to support Reach, a charity that continuously strives to make a difference in the lives of their clients and their families.
