Beware of Olympics ticket scams, say police

Police are warning those hoping to watch the 2012 Olympic Games to be aware of fake websites as ticket sales launch.
Over eight million tickets for the London Games and two million for the Paralympics will be made available when tickets go on sale on Tuesday.
With an increase in the use of the internet for purchasing tickets, travel and accommodation packages, there is likely to be a number of criminals looking to sell non-existent tickets and get personal credit card details to use for other offences.
Detective Inspector Kev Fidler, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “There is only one official way to obtain tickets for the Olympic Games and that is through www.tickets.london2012.com."
